The only losers in these political wars are every day Americans. Another four years of not much substantive getting done for taxpayers. It’s a never ending election cycle in the US - mid-terms, general, special elections, governors’ races. It gets tedious and demoralizing after a while watching much needed policy and legislative initiatives die on the Senate floor because of gamesmanship and electioneering.

Politicians have figured out that promising big things and then stirring up anger at others when they don't happen is often a better electoral strategy than making realistic promises accounting for political and institutional constraints. Delivering for constituents used to overcome that more, before most politics became national. It makes a cycle that can be quite disillusioning.
