Your framing in this article makes me think of the Blues and Greens in Byzantine Rome. You could easily have written an article looking at similarities between Jan. 6 and the Nika riots.
Would you consider Greenwald and Taibbi conservative? I think that, at least for most of their careers, they’ve had a largely liberal/progressive bent.
I think what I'd say is that I don't really see them as having become Trumpists because I think their transformation isn't so much ideological or political as it is about a kind of boorish aggression. I think Greenwald and Taibbi both like mocking, attacking, and belittling their targets, and there's more opportunity to do that right now in Tucker/Musk/MAGA world than elsewhere.
